The Stone What is moissanite, exactly?

A lab-created gemstone first discovered inside a meteorite in 1893. It carries more fire than a diamond — a higher refractive index, more brilliance — and rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it built for everyday wear. Our moissanite is D-color grade with VVS-level clarity.

The Stone Can I use a Lumière piece as an engagement ring?

Many of our customers do. Our moissanite stones are visually indistinguishable from a diamond to the naked eye — and they outperform one in brilliance. The meaning is in the piece, not in what it cost.

Sizing How do I find my ring size?

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark where it meets, measure in millimetres, divide by 3.14. Match the result to our size chart on the product page. If you're between sizes, go up. For absolute precision, any local jeweller can measure you in under a minute.

Materials What is the metal actually made of?

It depends on the piece — and we say so on every product page. Our moissanite pieces are crafted in S925 sterling silver, finished in rhodium or a thick 18K gold layer. Our everyday collections are built on a durable jeweller's base with the same thick 14K–18K gold finish. Every piece is nickel-free, hypoallergenic, and made for daily wear.

Materials Can I wear it in water?

Yes — our pieces are water-resistant and made for real life. Rain, washing your hands, workouts: all fine. To keep the gold finish at its brightest for years, give it a quick rinse and dry after chlorinated pools or salt water, and let perfume dry before putting your jewelry on. That's it.

Materials Will it tarnish — or turn my skin green?

No. Every piece is nickel-free and skin-safe, and the rhodium and thick gold finishes are specifically designed to resist tarnishing and discolouration through daily wear. If a piece ever falls short of that, our lifetime warranty covers it — we replace it.

Care How do I clean it at home?

Soak for 2–3 minutes in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap. Gently brush with a soft toothbrush, rinse, and pat dry with a microfibre cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners — they can loosen hand-set stones over time.

Shipping How long does delivery take?

Every order ships within 24 hours, fully tracked and insured. Estimated delivery: United States 6–10 business days · Canada 7–12 business days. You'll receive your tracking number the moment it leaves our facility.

Returns What if I don't love it?

60 days to return any unworn piece in its original packaging — free, no explanations needed. After that, every Lumière piece is covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Email hello@thelumierejewelry.com and we handle it from there.

Shipping Will I pay customs or import fees?

No surprises at the door. Orders to the United States arrive with nothing extra to pay. For Canada, local import taxes may occasionally apply on arrival — these are set by your customs authority.
